The Birdsville Races have long been an opportunity for people to gather in the outback to enjoy the desert version of the Melbourne Cup, the ultimate Australian horseracing event.
In the first week of September, locals are joined by up to 8000 visitors eager to experience bush racing at its best. The Birdsville Races aren’t just about the races – there’s a range of attractions and events all focused on fun and celebration of all that is outback.
